Discover Our Passion for Pottery
My family coming from Poland, England, Germany and the Netherlands, were artistically inclined. Though I only met the most immediate of my family. The artistic heritage was then carried through my parents to me and so on through the years and has expanded into many mediums. Watercolor and oil paintings seemed to be the main medium used in the family history with pottery a near second. My mother an oil painter liked landscape and dabbled in painting portrait. My father a design engineer, enjoyed making telescopes, but when it came to painting preferred watercolor of buildings and birds. Drawing in my dad’s workshop seemed to be something for me to do while he worked on his telescopes, there was a time he taught me to do carvings in a slab of wood now and then. There were quiet days when mom would paint and I would pause for a moment to watch how she made the paint glide across the canvas, taking in the depths of the colors being applied. Present day, pottery is great creative outlet. All things in life even the smallest shape us. I chose the path of Mom and Wife and having 3 littles that grew to wonderful adults. We have 2 granddaughters whom we adore and love their company as much as we can. My husband being a brickyard and I a school bus driver, enjoy time spent with the grands and watching our crazy dogs in the yard. There is a horse of course. What would life be like without my pony Geronimo,? I’m not sure. My hubby Rick will come with me from time to time while I ride at the stable down the rode. Sometimes the studio gets to busy and I need an escape. Though pottery is my place to be creative, playing with ponies is my retreat away from it all.
